All of the staff were so kind to me. They made me feel less scared and that was wonderful. They are all “good people.”
Our staff is continuously working to give back to the community by providing educational presentations and talks to various groups, from local civic organizations to international medical conferences. Wake Radiology Oncology Services is the Triangle's first free-standing, full-service, outpatient radiation therapy center. Our state-of-the-art facility combines the newest technology in three-dimensional radiation therapy with the expertise of highly-trained professionals to provide thorough, quality assurance of each patient's treatments. Our radiation therapy facility is equipped with a Siemens PRIMUS linear accelerator, producing x-rays as well as electrons with a wide range of energies. This complete range of energies provides optimal treatments for both surface tumors (on the skin) and for deep-seated tumors (such as prostate or lung cancers). The linear accelerator is computer-controlled and connected to a computer network that monitors and verifies every aspect of each patient's treatment to ensure maximum accuracy. Because most patients are treated with daily doses over a long period, this computer technology ensures that each daily treatment is precisely reproduced.
