Wake Radiology Oncology Signs on as Healthcare Sponsor for American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life
CARY (April 17, 2008) – Wake Radiology Oncology Services announced today that it will partner this year with the American Cancer Society for the 2008 Wake County Relay For Life events. As the Wake County Healthcare sponsor, the practice will support four of the 2008 Relay For Life events, held at locations throughout the county. This marks the fifth year that Wake Radiology has sponsored the annual program.
Relay For Life is an overnight event to celebrate cancer survivorship, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease and raise money locally for American Cancer Society programs. At each venue, team members gather at schools, fairgrounds or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Wake Radiology is sponsoring Relay For Life events at the following Wake County locations:
Garner – April 25 to 26 – Lake Benson Park
Cary/Apex/Morrisville – April 26 to 27 – Panther Creek High School
East Wake – May 2 to 3 – East Wake High School
North Raleigh/Wake Forest – May 16 to17 – Wakefield High School
Last year, 265 teams participated in Wake County Relay For Life events, raising more than $874,800 for the American Cancer Society.
